ANN ARBOR – Ava Heung has been recognized as the best high school girls hockey player in Michigan after earning the 2023 Miss Hockey award on Wednesday. Heung, who starred for the Ann Arbor Huron-Skyline co-op team (Ann Arbor Skyron), claimed the prestigious honor given out annually by the Michigan Girls High School Hockey League after a standout season that saw her ranked in the top three in the state for points. The Ann Arbor Skyline senior recorded 36 goals and 35 assists in 21 games this season while also leading Skyron to a 21-2-1 record and a state semifinal appearance.
